Dental patients and dental health-care workers maybe exposed to a variety of microorganism via blood or oral or respiratory secretions. This report offers guidance for reducing the risk of disease transmission among
dental health-care workers and
their
patients; protective attire and care of sharp instruments, and needles, sterilization or disinfection of instruments cleasing and disinfection of the dental unit and environmental surfaces, disinfection and dental laboratory, use and care of
handpices,
antiretration valves, surgical-use disposable instruments, disposal of waste materials and implementation of recommendations.
